Women in Aviation International Conference

MORE INFO COMING SOON

The next conference will be March 19th - 21st, 2026, at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, TX!

Check back for more information regarding the next conference! We have some big plans coming to make this one even more impactful.

For now, check out these helpful FAQs from our chapter!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR THE CONFERENCE?

While there are no specific guidelines on what to wear for the conference, here are some helpful tips to remember while packing. We recommend wearing business professional attire when you are in the exhibit hall or meeting with recruiters. You can always change your blouse or shirt for the following day to avoid packing two suits. Since you will most likely be busy or engaged with the conference happenings, this attire is perfectly acceptable for the education sessions, workshops, socials, or any other events you attend.

During the Pioneer Hall of Fame dinner, however, you’ll find most ladies opt for formal wear. Business professional attire is always welcome if you do not wish to wear a dress. When it comes to dress shoes, we know those stilettos look fabulous, but expect to spend a good portion of the day on your feet.

Packing a comfortable pair of dress shoes as an alternative to high heels is highly recommended. Business casual or better is always a safe bet for other conference events, such as tours.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I CONSIDER PACKING?

While the following are optional, here are some helpful packing tips from an experienced conference goer: resume prints, padfolio, tote bag/briefcase, business cards, reusable water bottle, breath mints, hand sanitizer, comfortable dress shoes, blister care, and a great attitude.

I'M LOOKING TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP IN MY CAREER - HOW CAN I MAKE THE MOST OF THIS TRIP?

Get your resume polished and printed ahead of time. Consider using resume paper, which you can find at Staples, FedEx Office, and other similar stores and services. Recruiters spend an average of 30 seconds per person reviewing your resume, so ensure it is clear, concise, and error-free. Like a good preflight preparation, the key to a conference is showing up prepared. If you’re in the job market, practice introducing yourself within 3-5 minutes.

Be ready to discuss your professional experiences, why you want to work for a particular company, and what values you contribute to the workplace.

THIS IS MY FIRST CONFERENCE, WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

First and foremost, expect to have a great time. It may be easy to feel overwhelmed, but if you have an open mind and a plan, you will quickly find why the conference motto is to “connect, engage, and inspire.”

WAI International has offered a First Timers Tour, so if you have the time, we recommend attending the tour so you learn how to get the most out of it.

Also, if you are a chapter member, check out the WhatsApp group. Every year, the conference is discussed in this group chat. Feel free to ask questions and connect with other chapter members.

If you are not part of the WhatsApp group but are a chapter member, please contact us so we can add you.

THE CONFERENCE HAS A LOT TO OFFER, HOW DO I DETERMINE WHICH EVENTS ARE FOR ME?

We recommend planning for the conference in advance. Look at the Women in Aviation International website, magazine, and the conference app (more information regarding the app will be available closer to the conference) and have a plan since a lot is happening at any given time.

Unless the conference offers a special ticketed event, explore and attend what workshops, education sessions, or socials you can find! There are plenty of resources available to help you plan your day. This way, you can make the most of your conference experience.

REALLY WANT TO GO, BUT MY BUDGET PREVENTS ME FROM ATTENDING. ARE THERE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE?

Yes! Each year, the North Texas Chapter offers several conference scholarships that cover the registration fee, hotel, and a travel voucher for meals and airfare. The scholarship window is only open for a couple of months toward the end of the year, so check out our Scholarships page and follow us on social media for up-to-date information on chapter events and scholarship offerings.

To apply, you must be a Women in Aviation International member AND a North Texas Chapter member.

I CAN'T MAKE IT THIS YEAR, WHEN IS THE NEXT CONFERENCE?

Please join us for the 2027 Women in Aviation International Conference on February 25-27, 2027, at the Savannah Convention Center in Savannah, Georgia.
